Minot Light Life Ring- 12"x12" Acrylic and gold leaf on canvas
This 12x12" acrylic on canvas piece is inspired by a life ring from the Minot Lighthouse, back when it was managed by the United States Lighthouse Establishment. It’s a nod to the hardworking lighthouse keepers who were always ready to ensure safety on the water. The checkered background adds a fun, nautical touch, while the gold leaf brings a bit of old-world charm. This piece captures the spirit of the lighthouse’s history and the lasting impact it had on keeping the waters safe for all who sailed them.
"History in the Harbor" is my new series that reflects the rich maritime heritage of Massachusetts/New England. Drawing inspiration from the state's long history of fishing, lobstering, shellfishing, shipbuilding, and coastal living, these works highlight the enduring connection between past and present. Each piece tells a story of a time when life on the water was the heartbeat of local communities, shedding light on the enduring moments that continue to echo in the present day. Through textured layers and bold visuals, this series celebrates the resilience, tradition, and beauty of coastal life.
